What are some things you look forward to? A birthday, anniversary, the holidays, the first game of the season, the last day of work before the weekend? The closer it gets, it seems, the more excited you get for it. When we are passionate about things we enjoy doing, we get an almost euphoric feeling that grows as the big day approaches. Imagine if we were all as passionate for GOD as we are for football, baseball, or hockey. What if our anticipation for meeting Jesus was as strong as it is for the first pitch on opening day, or the first snap of College Football? Would that be enough? Probably not. Don’t get me wrong, having a passion for something is good for us. Passion motivates us to achieve our personal goals in our education, work, and other activities. GOD, however, demands so much more. More excitement than we have when a new sports season starts. More passion than we have for anything else. “For GOD so loved the world, that he gave his only son.” GOD gave up his son so we could be with him in Heaven. The least we can is give more of our passion for him.
