- Philippians 3:13-15 -
We often think that it's all finished when we come out of the waters of baptism. However, it is just the beginning. Baptism is when we are born again. We are a new creature. Life is all new to us just like a baby. Every day brings new wonders and challenges. We are to enjoy this newness, the process of growth, and be in awe of what God has done.
We rise in the newness of life. It is now time for us to live that life in Christ. It is a blessing to
have this life in Christ. Let us live it to the max. We have no worries. We are carefree for all our cares are taken care of by God. We can’t die. We can’t be overcome. We can’t lose. How is that not amazing?! We have a new eye for the world around us. We no longer see darkness but the light. Yes, the new vision we have can show us darkness. Those sightings just highlight the incredible nature of God and His work in Christ. There is nothing that we cannot rejoice about, enjoy, and/or see the blessing of. We are like Mario with star power in Christ.
The thing is, church, it is not over. We are here to live and do the work of the Lord. We are here to keep on the narrow way. We are here to serve Him. We have so much more to do than to sit in the pew and drip dry. There are so many more wonderful experiences to enjoy in Christ. They cannot be enjoyed without us taking action. There is more to our life in Christ than watching God work from our easy chair through our living room window.
Now that we are free and cleansed, let's get to living. Live the life God has given you to live to its fullest.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.” (Philippians 3:13-15 NKJV)
